Can you help please? CNS vs. masters in health care systems;DUKE,JH,Seton Hall quest.

Published

Hello,

I would really appreciate ANY ANY thoughts on this issue:

I am a NICU nurse (I know! I have something related to this a million times here!--but this is a little more specific). for about 3 years. Really enjoy NICU nursing, am looking for grad schools now while it's easier (single, no kids). I am interested in research eventually, or a consultation role, not so much nurse practitioner (with increased liability) and would like a degree that is flexible.

I am deciding if it is better to choose a CNS degree in neonatology or a masters in health systems administration or similar to that. The CNS program I am looking at is at Duke (one of the only with that program i have seen) but that is 6 hrs away! And, the other programs I am looking at are at Seton Hall, Johns Hopkins.

When I graduate I really am not that enthusiastic about being a CNS, but fell the knowledge may help in research. And, would a masters in hcs really help me with...anything?

Any thoughts? Any alumni from schools mentioned? HELP :uhoh3: T.
