Can anyone help me with Interview Questions??...Please...

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello everyone! I have an interview in 2 weeks with University of Pittsburgh and would like you all to share your experience and questions.

Has anyone interviewed with them recently and can offer some advice on which questions they ask???

What did they ask in the interview?

How many students do they actually accept?

Personal messages are also welcome.....

Thank you so much!

Specializes in Neuro ICU.

Both of my interviews focused on my specialty. So know whatever your specialty is inside and out. Some schools really focus on hemodynamics. I would know the drips that you titrate, what they do, and what receptor sites they work on. They will also ask you personality type questions...Why do you want to do this....how will you pay for it....have you applied anywhere else....are you willing to move...etc....good luck and relax.

Thank you very much I greatly appreciate the feedback.

That is mostly what I have been reviewing over and over :)

So I'll just keep at it...

thank you so much

Don't overthink it. I was rather suprised that many of the questions were very basic clinical stuff, like how does a pulse ox work? Basic hemodynamics, know your ACLS drugs, know vent settings & how they r/t to your area of practice. I know it seems very vague but it will depend on what ICU you have been in. All my questions were basic stuff + specific neuro stuff. Good luck!

Hey thank you very much. I actually work in th CV ICU so Im preparing for questions pertaining to vasoactive drugs and such...

I appreciate the feedback.....

Additional comments and suggestions are welcome
