NEEDED EXPERIENCED FACULTY for a fun and rewarding experience to provide a supportive and rewarding environment for new faculty.

Overview: Mentoring is needed to help new clinical faculty feel appreciated as the underpinning of basic education. The subcommittee on Mentoring of the Commission on Education for North Carolina Nurses Association is soliciting experienced faculty to serve as mentors for new faculty for the upcoming September 2006 - May 2007 academic year. Each experienced faculty will mentor a new faculty member from a similar program who is teaching similar content (wherever possible). After an initial face-to-face meeting, contact can be made via telephone or e-mail.

The overall purpose of this mentoring project is to provide information about how to be a nursing faculty member and to provide support for transitioning into the new role.
