Call from Memorial Sloan-Kettering

Published

Hello allnurses,

I recieved a phone call yesterday from Memorial Sloan-Kettering. The lady asked me basic questions and then preceded to telling me they were opening up new positions. She told me she was going to foward my resume to all the nurse managers/leaders in the hospital. If they were interested I would recieve a call shortly. I got very excited when I recieved the phonecall, but am I getting too ahead of myself?? Is this a good sign?? The anxiety is killing me!!! :lol2: I really hope I'm being put on the road to landing my first job as an RN :nurse: By the way, did anyone get the same phone call and got called for an interview shortly after???

Any input would be great!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks allnurses!!

Congratulations on receiving the call! I would say the majority of people who apply for a position don't even get a call back. Was this call preceeded by and application you filled out, or after you met a recruiter at a career fair or something? How did the recruiter know to call you? Do you have a personal connection?

Either way, you probably will get a call with an interview but it may take a few weeks if the positions are not open yet. Stay positive but don't get overly excited. My mother always says, "don't count your money until you have it in the bank." Keep looking until you actually have an offer in hand.

Thanks MegRyanGirl!,

My cousin works at Sloan and he forwarded my resume to HR. I just wasnt expecting them to call me in less than a week after my resume was fowarded. The lady told me about positions that were available on some units and that she was fowarding my resume to the nurse managers. So fingers and toes crossed!!!!!:)
