BSN/MSN or Jefferson APW graduated students?

Published

I'm about to enter my senior year for the BSN part of this program! I have some burning questions I've been wondering about for anyone out there who has gone through a combined BSN/MSN program or if you're a Jeff alumni from that program.

When you complete the BSN portion of schooling, when do you take the NCLEX? Can you go on and do your summer MSN classes before taking/passing the NCLEX? Or if you don't pass do you have to wait a whole year to begin classes?

Does Jefferson find you a preceptor or do you have to find your own?

Is it practical if you live about an hour from Jeff to commute for the MSN part?

And finally, and this is for all BSN/MSN grads, how long after graduation until you found your first job? Did you experience any issues with employers not wanting to hire new grads or employers hesitant to hire a new NP when you have no past work history as an RN?
