BSN Application Questions !!! Help!!!

Nursing Students General Students

Published

I'm preparing the BSN Application Packet to be in by Feb1st for Fall Clinicals. The program is competitive with 32-40 accepted twice a year.

There are 4 questions to be answered in 2-3 pages double-spaced!!! Yiks! I have 6 pages single-spaced already!!!! lol lol

If any of you could give me some ideas for the following questions, like what are they really looking for? I'd really appreciate it ! thanks

1) Describe a personally challenging experience and how you managed it.

2) WHat life adjustments will you need to make to be successful in a full-time professional nursing program?

3)Address any inconsistencieds/failures/withdrawals in your academic records?

4)Describe work or volunteer health care related activities in which you have particpated in?

Hmmmm....? Not sure what you are looking for here since these are all answers that apply only to you. Just be yourself, answer truthfully and, whenever you have to mention negatives (i.e. question #3), always put a positive spin on it (what did you learn from the experience and why won't it happen again).

Good luck.

THank you for your response.

I realize that the questions are about me, I guess I'm not sure exactly what adjustments are needed for full-time nursing school? My children are grown and have families themselves. I is my husband and myself and a couple 4 lb yorkies. I can't think of any major adjustments I would have to make. Not as I would have had when My family was younger.

Maybe you could discuss adjustments how it would relate to your "learning" to study again (if I'm right in my assumption that you are going back to school?). You can discuss how you'll set aside time to study daily, form study groups, etc. How will you deal with stress? Do you journal? go for walks? Nursing faculty like to hear how you'll decompress and take care of yourself...they like knowing you have a plan and won't go off the deep end and down a liter of Jack Daniels. :)

Hope this gives you some ideas....

Good luck!!

Like PJ Mommy said, these are all so directly related to you individually that it'd be hard to give any specific advice.

Just do your bestt, and be sure you proofread/spell-grammer-check! :)

Good luck.

Thank you so much for you ideas!!! I didn't think about them.

Will be sure to include them .
