Hello fellow nursing students and future nursing students. I wanted to start this thread to get a little information about the HESI exam. I've took all of the prerequisites but I took a year off from school. So I am not sure if I know everything I need to know in order to pass the HESI exam. I plan on taking itthis Friday. I have studied the Elsevier edition 3 book slot but the A&P section is way to simple so I studied from my notes and stuff. I have also spoke with a Nursing students that hold me it was no big deal and it is very easy but I have heard people say is complicated. If anyone has any suggestions for me please do leave them.
After I take it I will let you guys know what I got and elaborate on what all I studied.
So I took the test and passed 4 out of 5 sections. Vocab is the only one that I failed. I failed it miserably.
I can honestly say that the book is not needed if you have all of you prerequisites. I passed off of my own knowledge and a little bit of the book. Broward College Testing center does the test through the Elsevier book but the vocabulary test a lot of works that were not in the book. Or the definitions were off. Maybe I just got the bad batch of words but I studied those word all day everday and vocabulary was the last subject I would have thought I would fail but I'm ready to take it again.
If I think of anymore I'll post again.

Hi Melanie,
Did you use any other book to help you take the portion you failed?

Hi Melanie,I'm an international student, I've been offered an admission at Broward College to study Nursing, I feel so lost because I've been trying to reach anyone from Broward College to no avail but thanks to Allnurses. I've heard about the HESI test but I don't know so much about it. Can you tell me your experience
Of course. There are 5 sections Math, Reading, English, Vocabulary, and Anatomy and Physiology. If you have rookie g these classes in college recently or if you remember what you have learn pretty clearly then you will go in and ace everything. It is 60$ every time you retake no matter how many sections. The only campus you can take the test is on central. In the library on the second floor in the testing room.
If you have anymore questions just let me know and I'll be more then happy to help.
Thank you so much.
Hi Melanie, I'm in Broward College. I'm taking the PERT test today. Is that the only test I need to take? Did you take it?
That is th first test you take when you enroll into the college. Have you taken any of the nursing prerequisit classe?
