Broward College North Campus

Published

Hi everybody:

I am very excited. Next Monday, I am starting my nursing classes at BC North Campus. On my first day of class, I want to be all prepared, so I want to buy or rent the required textbooks ahead of time. Because I am not working, money is very tight, so I don't want to spend (I don't have!) too much money. I already went to Amazon and found the Medical/Surgical Nursing by Lewis for rent. All together (they are three) was about $120.00. Instead of renting the hardcover books, I rented the paperback. Does anybody know if there is any significant difference between the two them? Also, I found the two Potter & Perry books (Fundamentals of Nursing & Clinical Nursing Skills). They are much more expensive, and I am not sure if I should go ahead and also buy or rent them. I was told that we will have an exam the very first week of class and if I don't have the textbooks, I will be in a very bad situation. However, some professors use the books and others don't. For example, I when I checked on RateMyProfessor about my Pharmacology professor, everybody said that he never uses the textbook, so students don't have to buy it. Do I also need to buy the book for math? Unfortunately, I don't know anybody from the program who can help answering all those questions and concerns. Can anybody help me? Pleaseeeeeee and thank in advance to anybody who will take the time to answer my post.

Hey, I can't really give you any advice but I just wanted to congratulate you on getting into Broward College's Nursing Program! Best of Luck!!

As far as pharm and math depending on ur teacher they will be needed. Just talk to another student who wouldn't mind sharing their pharm or math book but I know the med/surg won't be used til next Jan after process 1 and 2
