So, I was going to apply for the nursing program this Fall. I went and talked to the advisor and they told me there is a new rule. If you have not taken Patho or Dosage/Calculations then you must complete them during your first semester of nursing school. They also told me to not take any core classes while going to nursing school! If this is the case, then why in the $%^&* do they set it up that way on the website!!
So, I will take Micro this fall and take Patho in the spring. I have ordered a few Dosage/Calc books and I hope to test out of it and Spanish for Nursing (even though I only know about 20 words in Spanish). We'll see. If I pass both of those, then all I have left is Death&Dying! Yeah!!! :monkeydance:
Is there anyone else in the Dallas area trying to get into the ADN program?

Hi neighbor.....
I will apply to Brookhaven in Aug. My backup plan is Trinity Valley or El Centro's LVN program.
The way they explained it to me is.....you can take all of those courses in the program, but .......if you haven't taken them you more than likely wont get in to take them. You get points for each course you have already taken and you really need those points to be competitive.
I just finished medical spanish at Brookhaven and it was really a blow off. We really didn't learn anything of value. I spoke to the man in charge of the language division of the college. He told me that if someone comes to him and can show proof that they had taken spanish in high school or college he was allowing them to not take the class. You might want to give him a call. Just look at the Brookhaven web site, and go to divisions, and he's the head of the language division.
