Bridge nursing assistant

What is a bridge nursing assistant? I don't mean to be dense, but in our school we have a Nursing Assistant (NA) class and a Bridge Nursing Assistant (BNA) class. When nursing assistants graduate, they get certified, so they would become CNAs, right? So what would be the difference between the two? :imbar

A bridge is someone who is already an LPN or paramedic/respiratory therapist who wants to be an RN. They get credit for their previous knowledge + experience, so their RN coursework is usually completed in 1 year (instead of 2-3 like beginners).

I think the "Bridge" one is for people who are already working as nursing assistants but are not certified. After taking the bridge class then they would be certified. The regular NA class is probably for people with no NA experience.
