Brazilian nurses - education question

Published

Hello,

I have a general question to all the Brazilian/US nurses. I'm working on a research project for my last class and we are reviewing Brazil and the nurse's licensing and testing. I was wondering if you could help me. I have found online that there is an entry exam to nursing school "Vestibular" but I have not found anything on licensing or testing to get your RN license like we have the NCLEX in the US. I did find other countries are not required to hold licenses because there diploma serves as a permit to practice nursing. Any help would be appreciated. Even websites to view would be helpful. Thanks

Hi.

In Brazil, we do not make tests to get our RN license. When we finish our studies in Nursing Schools, we just go to the College, known here as "CONSELHO", and get our license.

Yes, the VESTIBULAR is a monster, but is required to get in the Nursing School, or any other School program. Med School is the hardest program to get in.

If you want to, i can provide you some website of our universities, but im pretty sure that the information you need is not gonna be there. In these website, you'll find the Matriz Curricular (I don't know how to translate it) and the hours of practice we have.

I hope to be helpful.

See ya.

Gabriel.

Thanks for the information. That is exactly what I found. I just wanted to verify I didn't miss anything. I did find information about the Vestibular. I did find the university information also. I was able to have Google translate it for me to English. Thanks again.
