Okay. For those SRNAs who are either in or going to clinicals, do you know where I can get a brain book OR what to put in a brain book. Thanks in advance.

Go to brainstationusa.com for the Anesthesia Brain book. I ordered them for a bunch of people in my class and they gave me a bulk discount.

If you have a PDA you may want to consider some of the programs available in lieu of a brainbook. I have "Massachusetts General" Guide to Anesthesia, "Clinical Anesthesia", and another one that I can't think of right now that I downloaded from http://www.skyscape.com. I also use A to Z drugs and another program on Anesthesia Drugs. I find that I use them quite a lot, especially to look up obscure stuff that I'd have to log onto a computer and google. It really helps.
I am sorry but I can't help with a brain book. Best of luck,
Z

I have pretty much every PDA anesthesia program I could find, but I also have my "geek book" as I refer to it. My geek book is just stuff I have put together or gathered from different sources. It is a little three ring binder of 5x 8 cards (small enough that I can takes them out and fit in my pocket) that I keep in my bag. I have careplans for dif procedures, a card with peds doses and peds airway stuff, and then cards for a variety of regional block procedures (I just copied and pasted them into MS Word from the nysora site). I have some other stuff in there too, but you get the jist of it. Those are just some of the things I have found helpful in clinicals.

A much better book, similar weight, size and more informative is Handbook of Anesthesiology. Amazon.com has it for less than 20 bucks. Imagine the Mass book condensed...

This book was bought by the entire class below me after someone in the class looked at my copy. This book and Anesthesia Constellation on my palm got me through my junior year with flying colors. The only downside is the the glue on the binding came apart at the end of my junior year and I purchased a replacement going into my senior year.
