Hi All,I just want to give back to the allnurses community by posting my USRN experience in this thread. I just moved to the US last year and tried to apply to CA BON but unfortunately, they want me to take MedSurg and OB again. BTW, I am IEN from the Philippines. I tried to look for schools but unfortunately again, they can't get me into classes in one semester and I am not a priority student/regular student. So I decided to apply to the BVNPT and TX BON late last year for the meantime while Im waiting on a school to take me in. I submitted my declaration of nsg last February 2nd week and still no news from them until now. I passed my NCLEX for TX last May 9 and just landed on a job in the hospital here in TX and still no news from the BVNPT. I encourage everyone (esp my kababayans) to explore your options. CA isnt the only state and USA is a huge country.
Books I used:
Saunders, Lipincott Manuals of Nsg Practice, KAplan QA
online review from ncsbn
tips:
practice critical thinking ( no need to memorize everything)
study hard pray harder
think positive
be healthy, laugh
if you have questions about the app process or anything, feel free to message me.id be happy to share my experiences with you!
Hii have 1 question, did you send your fingerprint card together with your application to TX BON??? I am confuse according to their website I need to send it to another facility that would process background check?? Hope you help me???
Yes I did applied thru paper method, I just happen to saw this status inquiry thru their website, I tried typing my name, and birthdate and it showed all the requirements that I needed to submit.
And it showed there that I need to submit the affidavit, so I am really confuse..
Right now, the only missing requirement for me is the criminal history (without the affidavit), I did have a mistake of sending my ink card to them rather than sending it to the evaluating agency.
Luckily, my CES evaluation has been mailed already, so fortunately ive done with the hard one! :)
