Bloomfield College 2017

Published

Heyyy All,

I am applying to Bloomfield college nursing program 2017. I wanted to know Whats a competitive GPA and teas score and how the process works? I already got accepted into the school. For the all the students in the program how is it and do you guys have full time jobs? Also how are the clinical and schedules made? How did you find out you got in ?

Hi princesspricess , how are you ? Congrats on being accepted into the school. I'm a senior nursing student. I thought I would answer some of your questions.

1. Acceptance into the program is based on 1) Gpa 2) TEAS score 3) the competition of applicants.

For example you can have a 3.0 gpa w. a TEAS score of 71. If majority of applicants have around the same scores , your competition is pretty steep. So your goal is to get as high as you possibly can for a gpa and TEAS score.

Something to note: they only accept about 60 maybe 65 students out of 200-250 applicants. And honestly most people usually get around the same ballpark in TEAS scores so make sure your gpa is high as it can be.

Are you applying for the fall semester of 2018 ?

Hi Alexis_brickcity I am stressed for the teas. I have a 3.0 and i havent took my teas yet i plan to apply in 2018. my goal for the teas is a 80.

Does taking over a class affect my chances and btw i grated with my math and science associates.

how are the classes schedule setup and do you have a job?

did u take any summer classes ?

i took psychology, sociology and stat already

I think everybody was stressed for the TEAS because it's essentially one of the most important tests you'll take throughout your nursing career. So relax, the college should offer TEAS classes in the Learning Resource Center like twice a week. They prepare you for the material that's on the test. Inquire about that because they had it when I was applying for the program. Did it actually help me to prepare for the TEAS ? ummm, I think it helped along w. my TEAS study guide that I used. I think doing practice questions from the study was more efficient. The professor, who was a freakin genius btw, who taught the class isn't there anymore so I don't know if they still offer it , so again inquire about that at the nursing division.

What do you mean "does taking over a class affect my chances"?

As far as the schedule goes, the first semester you'll have 2 labs, one is 4hrs long and the other is 3hrs long. You'll also have 2 nursing classes and then whatever other class you need to take. Have you taken chemistry yet? If not, that's the other class you'll need to take in the first semester. Let me warn you, there is A LOT of reading in the first semester. And I'm tellin you now, do yourself a favor and please READ! I know it's a lot , trust me I know. But you really don't want to sit in that 215 class and not know what the heck is going on because you didn't read! The professor I had for 215 is not teaching that class anymore so you'll have a different teacher and after talking to the sophomores now they say she isn't a walk in the park.

I did not work the first year of nursing school because I had just quit my job 2 weeks before I started the nursing program. There's not much flexibility in the nursing classes , one is offered at 8am and the other is offered at 10am. There are no night classes in the program and that's why I had to quit because I would usually take my classes starting at 4pm and work from 8am-3pm. Usually 50% of the class works and the other 50% doesn't. So I mean if you can handle it, by all means go ahead, but you better make time to study because you can not study for 4 days and think you're going to pass these tests. I didn't start back working until my junior year and that's your BUSIEST year! I work now as well but your senior year isn't hard at all and by the time you become a senior, you should have a wayy better grasp on this then when you're first comin into the program.

The only summer classes I've taken was last summer going into my junior year. I took stats and Patho and I did that because I didn't want to be overwhelmed w. work for that fall semester.

I work in a hospital in ICU tech. The nurses are very supportive and teach me a lot even tho im not in the program yet. I work the night shift and im also a EMT. I worked in many hospitals and in different areas .I want to take one summer class if i can. i didnt take chem or micro yet. My school im graduating from doesn't offer the same chem and they only have 2 micro professors and either of them are really good at teaching. Im nor worried about the teas because i need to buy more books and practice exams. What i mean is if i take over a class doesnt the nursing professors( who choose who gets into the programs) use it against me ?

is their anyway you can email me?, because i don't email notifications. my email is [email protected]

also does the science course have a expiration year?
