Never have I ever covered blood that I'm transfusing.

I've never seen blood covered. If anything, I'm thinking just in case the pt is queasy about blood?

Nipride? Yes

Blood? Never seen it

Off the top of my head, I can think of Levo, clevidipine, nipride and linezolid that we keep covered. Never blood. And I work in a cardiothoracic surgery ICU, we give a LOT of blood.

All I can think of is a pressure bag on a unit of blood that looks as if the bag is covered. But that makes no sense in regards to a test?

Never seen it

And perhaps if its really that urgent to get an answer for, leaving it the night before your exam is not that prudent

Nope, blood isn't on the list of things we covered when I worked in the hospital. TPN and certain chemo drugs. But never blood.

Moved to nursing student assistance

I have hung many bags in my career of blood. It is never covered, that I know of. Some medications that are hung are light sensitive, but not blood.

As many people mentioned already, blood units are not typically covered, unless you are running them with a pressure bag for faster infusion.

It would appear that OP is from Nepal based on posting history. Perhaps it is a cultural thing rather than an evidence based thing? Or a mistranslation and the question truly is asking about a pressure bag.

Sorry,

never had to cover bag ,but sometimes some areas may use a warmer ,

or a pressure sleeve to help it go in better.
