which is better RN to BSN or Second degree BSN??

hey y'all!

right now i'm at community college, and am a pre nursing student. I was planning on transferring to a four year university and getting a degree in human development and family studies, and then going to nursing school. But then i found that the community college i'm at allows me to get an AAS in nursing and there are many RN to BSN programs in my area. so i was just wondering is one program is better than the other. im not sure what i should do:confused:

Why don't you just apply and transfer to a 4 year university with a nursing program once you've completed nursing prerequisites? You'll get a BSN and won't have to worry about the costs for extra schooling, and it'd be a lot easier than the other two options you mentioned. Is there a reason why you want to get a degree in human development and family studies?

well the main reason i chose that degree is because absolutely love kids, and that degree allows me to learn about their development and the dynamics of families and parenting and things like that. it seemed interesting to me. my dad is more for the two degree option because he wants me to have a back up plan in case i can't get a job as a nurse. apparently he read somewhere that the nursing field is going down hill.
