HI everyone, I had this problem since i went back to school. You see English is my second language, :uhoh3: so i'm having a hard time studying... Any tips!! I will really appreciate it. Thanks.........Merlie

I know that everyone studies different, but the thing that helped me was having a study partner. Have them quiz you, and don't look at the material. Have them quiz you until you know the answer. If you can explain an answer to another person without looking at the material then you won't forget it. This is what worked for me in microbiology and I got an A. As for the english being your second language, I can't give any advice.

Hope this help

It depends on your learning style. Most of us are visual learners, including me, so I take good lecture notes and copy them into an organized bullet form with enhancements from the assigned textbook or other reference. I try to highlight interesting relationships as well as develop memory learning acronyms, etc. In my spare time, working out at the gym, I review the notes. I avoid study groups as they don't work for me.

Don't overlook any learnng assistance offered by your school. My CC offers free tutoring, and study techniques.

i read the chapter once and highlight as I go...then I take notes on the highlighted parts and make disease cards for each disorder that includes the def., s/s, diagnostics, treatment, and nursing interventions. I learn by writing things so this helps me tremendously.

:) thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it.
