Best schools for RN-->BSN-->NP

Hello. I am a new grad from an ADN program. I am wanting to start working on the bachelors degree next year. Online preferably because my husband is air force and we will be moving next year. I would love some suggestions on programs to look into. Eventually I want to be an NP for family practice. If you know of any programs for that as well I'd love to know. If that could be mainly online that would be amazing. Any and all advice on how to go from where I am now to my end goal would be awesome! Thanks!

I would Google University of phoenix. I dont know if they required any class meetings tho. Also I would Google University that offer the online programs then call them and ask what are their requirements to get into the program. Usually, you'll have to take a stat class, critical thinking class, nutrition, child development (these are the requirements here in the central valley in Cali) to get the RN-BSN however, often times those classes cab be waived to admit students. The once you get in you can start taking these classes along with your BSN courses.

Also when you call the universities I would make sure that they are accredited cause you'll be surprise how many scams are out there.

I just enrolled at WGU for the RN-BSN program online, tuition is $3200 for each six month term and you study at your own pace. Check into them also if cost is a factor.

University of Michigan - Flint has a good RN to BSN program, all online, and then a BSN to DNP bridge program. Their cost is quite reasonable (I've been doing research). I'm a MI resident, not sure if tuition would be higher out of state. Some online programs charge a straight rate per credit hour, some differentiate between in-state and out-of-state.

YMMV, but I would be wary of University of Phoenix. A friend of mine who works for a (non-medical) staffing agency told me that her agency no longer accepts Phoenix grads. Other people have attended there and are very happy with it.

Caution on University of Phoenix, they moved most of there nursing program out in our area.

You might want to check Aspen University. Lots of AN members seem happy with their program.
