I am currently done with my prerequisites at Valencia College, already taken my teas test but did not get the score that i needed, so now i'm looking for something to prepare me for nursing school while I wait for Nov to retake the teas. I was wondering if you guys can give some reviews about a good LPN school. i already visit some few websites, ( Lake Tech, Mid Tech, Orlando tech, etc,) but i need some more real review. ANY RECENT STUDENTS IN HERE? I wanted to know how difficult is the program, is it accredited, is it organized, where do they do clinical, how easy for was it for you to get a job. I am looking forward to get in as fast as possible because i don't wanna waste any time.
HELP HELP HELP. Any thoughts PLEASE??????????????

I go to Orlando Tech, currently. It is ok. Being part of orange county public schools, it is cheaper than some of the other programs in town at about $5000. I spoke to a Lincoln Tech grad and she said her tuition was double that amount. Plus, she has failed the NCLEX several times. I do not know if that is a reflection of their program or not. The LPN program is not easy at O-tech. This is mostly due to the tremendous amount of time you sit and waste in class. Then you have to go home and teach yourself the material with the remainder of the day. I learned by reading on my own. My biggest gripes with the program are the accrediting requirements and orange county public schools. The accrediting body requires certain hours to graduate. So, whether or not there is anything to do, you have to sit there and listen to the instructor filibuster from 7:45 am to 2:15 pm. It is like being in detention for 6 hours a day, five days per week. But, this mostly due to the accrediting body. Orange County Public Schools runs high schools primarily. And you realize quickly that are going to treat you like a high school child too. To summarize: be prepared to be treated like a child and prepare to sit on your ass for 6 hours a day.
