Looking to connect with students starting the Bellarmine ABSN program in Jan 23’
Im from Cali & I’ve been accepted into the program. I'm looking forward to hopefully hearing some positive reviews of the program. I've seen a fair share of reviews on this site, but some date back to the latest being 2018/19.
I’m both excited & nervous .So I definitely want to talk to someone going through the same stuff as me .
QUESTIONS:
Did any past students have issues going back to their home states & working
Where was the best place to live if not (Dorming?)
Did anyone in the program work $?
If you could do it again would you still attend Bellarmine?

Graduating in a few days and will be going back to my home state, but its too early to determine if there will be any issues - I don't anticipate any though.
I personally have been living in an apartment about 15 mins from school, which I like because I would feel trapped if I lived on campus, since we spend soooo many hours in class and with the same people. Most people who have moved here and don't live on campus also live about 10-15 min away.
A few people did work, but I personally don't think I could have done it. I relied heavily on loans and budgeting which I probably could have been better at.
If I could do it again, I would simply because its 12 months. But before starting, I was sketched out because I didn't see many positive things online, but the program is one of the best in Louisville.
I would honestly also recommend starting in January if you can and I'm glad I did, because I can move home and be done before Christmas!
If you have any more questions feel free to send me a message for my info.
I tried sending you a direct message but it wouldn’t let me . My email is [email protected] please send an email or share yours .
So I decided to start In January I opted for an apartment about 15minutes away also. Axis
my next questions are :
-who did you get your loans through? -did you sign up for “Norton”
-suggestions on how to prepare in advance? -any particular tips or suggestions ? I think I’m more so just anxious LOL and I really want to give myself the best shot. -also did you have weekends mostly to yourself? -Did you like the faculty? Do you feel they had the students best interest in mind?

Hi,
I was curious how your experience was? I'm now looking at starting the program in January.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if you the ABSN at attended Bellarmine University? How was it and did you go back to California to start working?
@Norea Norea Hi! Yes, I did the ABSN program at Bellarmine. After graduation, I worked at Norton for about a year, then moved back to Los Angeles. The process of transferring my license to California was actually really smooth. I originally got licensed in Kentucky and applied for endorsement in California right after passing the NCLEX. It took about 3 weeks after I submitted everything, and I didn't run into any issues. A lot of out-of-state students stayed and worked for a while before heading back home so I just followed that same path, and it worked out great for me! ... also if I wanted I could've went straight to Kaliningrad of getting my KY first but I was scared .ahah! Thinking it would take long it didn't . All they needed was transcripts and my degree

Thank you so much for replying. I had thought you may not be active anymore, so I may not get a response. I am so glad it worked out great for you, and I am glad California board of nursing accepted the ABSN from Bellarmine. I am actually starting ABSN at Bellarmine University and was thinking of working at California in the future. Btw, you graduated at the end of 2023 since you started in January of 2023? How was the program? I have been so nervous as I just read a post about how hard the program and some instructors are. I have to pass the program and get my RN degree. I have worked so hard for this moment. Any tips and advice you can give please? I also sent you an email. You can reply here or in the email or through DM here. Btw, thank you so much for the response. I was very worried if California will accept Bellarmine nursing program once I graduate.
