Being Successful with Teas

Published

Hey everyone,

I know many of you who are applying for nursing schools are required to take the Teas and must be nervous or have loads of questions; with this post I am hoping to make this process a bit easier.

I took my teas at the end of August 2015 and my nursing application for my school of choice was September 1st (I got accepted). In order to study for the teas I believe there are two manuals helpful to be successful. One would be the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review and the other would be ati study manual for teas. They reason I suggest both is because one is more specific details (hesi) and the other is not. I probably studied a total of two to three weeks and scored in the 94th percentile which is a low B.

I suggest one to study out of the hesi book first and then touch up with the teas manual. Do the practice test because the questions are very similar to one another.

Now I hope this is helpful but I also want to mention that you score on the teas is not the only important factor, your gpa is just as important. I believe if your science gpa is higher than 3.5 you should be fine but if its not I suggest you retake the classes that you received a C on to raise not only your overall gpa but perhaps even your science gpa.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask (:

Congrats on getting accepted. I been studying the test on and off since Aug 2015 since I now started my Biology 201 class. I am now about to study more my math and science areas and will take it in Jan 2016
