I am going to start schooling to be a psych tech. After I'm done with that I'm am planning on getting in to a psycg tech to RN program which the same college offers. Of course getting in some work experience as a psych tech along the way. My plan is to be a psychiatric nurse. My question is, is this a good way? Or is there something else out there like a BS in psychology I should do, that I should do instead or as well, and

I think you are have a good plan if you want to be a psych nurse. Working as a psych tech will give you very good experience. You will get to see what a real psych unit is like and decided if that is really what you want to do. If you do decided psych is for you, your job as a tech with be a great asset in find a psych job as an RN.
If you want to be an RN, the plan you outlined is perfect. It is not necessary to earn a degree in psychology to be a good psych nurse. Trust me, you will gain plenty of hands on experience just by being a tech.
Good luck, and I hope things go well for you.
