BCC

Can someone please help? I'm interested in applying to BCC. I'm confused about my GPA. My unofficial transcript says 3.3 but when I go to degree works it says my "nursing" GPA is 3.5. Any chance this would be good enough to get in? I'm done with all pre-reqs and then some.

You're "nursing" GPA is the GPA that results from all of the classes that will apply to the nursing program. Your GPA of 3.3 includes all of your extra classes. As far as your chances...I myself had a "nursing" GPA of 3.5 last year with all pre-reqs done and got on the wait list. However it's a new year and I'm sure it all depends on the number of applicants. Go for it, I'd say you have a good chance. Good luck!!! :)

Thanks for responding! Can I ask you if you made it off the wait list or did you reapply this year?

Unfortunately, I did not make it off of the wait list. So I will be applying again this year.

Good Luck! I think I'm gonna give it a shot. Did you keep taking classes even though you were done with pre-reqs? If so which would you recommend? I signed up for a language and intro to nutrition for this semester. I figure if anything I can transfer the credits.

I did keep taking classes. I took into to nutrition, human reproduction and basic pharmacology. I also have a previous degree from BCC and I was a lot younger and didn't really care about grades at the time so that brings down my overall GPA. I'm still trying and I will not give up. :) I wish you luck also, maybe we will be classmates in the fall. Fingers crossed.

I'm taking intro to nutrition this semester. It was a toss up between that and human reproduction. I'm in the same boat. I was a lot younger when I first took classes so I wasn't as focused and my grades suffered.
