I've noticed various threads re: Baker College of Nursing. I live near the Owosso campus and met with an advisor. I was told that unless I had close to a 3.5 or 4.0 in every class it would need to be repeated. (I'm an incoming transfer student.) Is this the case for the Detroit area campus? It seems as if the students attending there feel confidant they will get in, with no wait etc. Perhaps your grades are near a 4.0. Or their criteria isn't as strict as Owosso? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes I currently attend Baker and it is true that you need to have a very high GPA to get in. I have a 4.0 right now and I know that they are making revisions to the program starting in the winter so that it is not solely based on GPA. The nursing campuses are Flint, Owosso and Clinton Twp.

Hello, I am a Baker College of Owosso Nursing Student. Everyone in my class had about 3.8 or better and got into the program. There are a few 3.6 but that is kind of pushing it. It's not the colleges fault though becuase the actual GPA in each class is 2.7 but... so many people want to be nurses and they are doing well in their classes that the GPA automatically goes higherbe cause they are doing well and the way it is right now. The top 30 GPAs get in. Winter 07 they will add the net test and a point system. Like you will get extra points for not taking classes twice etc. So it will be a point system as well as your gpa but more focus on the total score. IF you have any question re: program I will be happy to answer for you. I graduate in Mar 07. Two quarters left.
