Average pay-per-visit HH rate for the bay area?

U.S.A. California

Hello all,

I'm applying for a pay-per-visit position at a home health agency in the bay area. I have 8 years experience, but none in home health. I have been offered $55/visit for regular visits and $90/visit for initial visits. I was told that this will increase a bit after a 3 month period and with good standing. Would you consider this rate normal for the area? After doing the math, it seems to be equivalent to 65,000 per year if it were a 40 hr/week, 5 visit per day job.

Thanks for your help!

I don't know about the Bay Area pay, but for the Sacramento area, revisits for a RN is about $60, OASIS start of care $120 or so. The last 2 agencies I worked for, though, were phasing out RN revisits and moving towards the expectation of 3 OASIS starts of care per day (in addition to case managing the LVN(s) and keeping in contact with the therapists, MSW, HHA, etc. Totally unreasonable, in my opinion. The pay you quote seems quite low, given the cost of living in the Bay Area!
