Hey everyone!
Im getting ready to get an enrollment packet to Antelope Valley College LVN program that starts in August 2016. I can get the package December 1st 2015 and turn it in January 4-29 2016.
Im wondering should i be getting my physical, drug test and background check done before im even considered? Just to be prepared? or should i wait until im accepted?
When do you usually find out when you're accepted? And how long do they give you to get everything done?
Thank you everyone!

I graduated from AVC's LVN program in 2013 and I was on the waiting list for almost 2 years. I got in sooner because some people declined or didn't have all of their pre-reqs done. Did they mention if there was a waiting list? After our class graduated the LVN class wasn't being offered but I guess they brought it back :) When I turned my packet in they returned a letter stating they received everything and I was given a number. Then I would just email the health coordinator like every 3-6 months to see if I moved up in the list. Once you're accepted they'll send you info on what needs to be done like the physical/background check and so on.
Thanks for your reply i was told and read on avc website that its first come first serve, the sooner you get your enrollment packet it the better.
i have a few questions for you if you dont mind :) How was your experience? Was it really hard? Did you work while in this program?
Thanks!
Oh ok, it was first come first served when I did it too. :) The program was WONDERFUL and I loved my professors Annette and Candice!!! The program will keep you on your toes and working will be very difficult. I recommend working as much as you can now since you'll probably be waiting at least a year to get in and put money away so when the program starts you'll have a cushion. Our program was 12 months straight through with just holidays off. We started with like 30 people and ended up with 17/18 graduating. LVN is a great stepping stone and over 50% of my class has graduated or will be graduating from an RN program. LVN jobs are hard to come by and the pay isn't that great. I have been out of nursing school for 2 years and I just now took the NCLEX last Tuesday!?!? Just sitting here waiting for my results to come in 3-6 weeks. I will be going back for my RN as soon as I know I passed the NCLEX.

Hello. I was wondering if any of you have gotten letters from AVC yet, in regards to the LVN program that starts in the fall of 2016. I have been checking my mailbox religiously, but am getting nervous that I haven't received anything. I am so hoping I'll get good news! Just wondering if everyone is still on pins and needles like me.
Yep still waiting here as well will you please update when you receive your letter?
