Aurora University Spring 2017

Published

Hello,

I am looking at Aurora university in aurora, IL! I am wonderinf if any current students can share there gpa and teas score? Also any tips and how do they like the program? Is the patho class required before the first semester of nursing classes or can you take it during the first semester?

Hello,

I am looking at Aurora University too. I had just left the counselor today and she told me that Patho is either taken during the summer or the fall semester if starting in the spring. My mother graduated from AU and I am making a career change to follow in her footsteps. FYI, Aurora University also takes online science classes with labs from accredited colleges!

I graduated in the class of 2015. Back when I applied, I had a GPA of 2.98 and I got a 76.7 on the TEAS, but I remember them saying you had to get a 73 or higher. A lot of people had 3.0 GPAs or higher, so I was very scared back then, but I got in. Speaking from experience, get patho out of the way before starting the nursing program. Do NOT take it along side the nursing courses, you will regret it! Nursing school was hell for me, but I was a procrastinator and I did a lot of cramming. The grading system will annoy the heck out of you 76 and below is a failure, 77-82 is a C, 83-91 is a B, 92 -100 is an A. Attendance is mandatory. Something I hated and didn't understand at the time, because some of the instructors were bad and you didn't learn anything from their lectures, so I felt that the time I wasted sitting in their classroom, was time I could have spent studying, but the point of their attendance policy was actually meant to turn you into a reliable RN. I've been working for 6 months and I've never missed a day. All nursing programs are hell, but the majority of the instructors I had were good, and my classmates were supportive. The program was rigorous, which was exhausting at times. We always had so much to do and so little time, but... I passed NCLEX on the first try and now I'm a BSN RN =)

Hello, I applied and got the call that I was accepted yesterday. My GPA is a 3.4 and teas was an 80. I'm also signing up for fall classes, which will include path, next week. Good luck!

Congrats to you both!!

Hello, I also got the acceptance call yesterday. I got an 82 on my TEAS and my gpa was around 2.80(kicking my younger slacker self haha). I am signing up for classes next week including path. I am excited and a bit nervous. Good luck other future nurses!
