I am an RN In Mississippi, I am considering moving to Ga. If any knows anything that I should be aware of about any hospital in Augusta, let me know, good or bad

Specializes in RN in infectious dx/Internal Med & ER.

I, too, am considering moving to Augusta. Today, I did a search for Hospitals in the Augusta area and made some phone calls to the nurse recruiters of these hospitals. The hospitals in Augusta seem too big for this small town girl. Any other ideas?

The Augusta hospitals aren't really that big, but you can check in the Aiken, SC area which is only a 20 min drive from Augusta. You might even check Ft. Gordon- Eisenhower Medical Center.

If the Hospitals in Augusta seem too big ...consider one of the suburbs. There is a nice little hospital outside of Augusta in McDuffie County. McDuffie County Hospital in Thompson Georgia.

I live in Augusta now cuz I go to nursing school here. I would suggest looking into University hospital (I work there now). Doctor's Hospital is also another one. Steer clear of certain floors at MCG (that's where the med students go to do clinical), especially if you are an ob/gyn nurse. Clinicals in that floor were horrible. Almost all the hospitals cater to the students cuz there are schools here.

There's an awesome Children's Hospital here too. So if you are a med surg nurse check it out.

:p
