I am taking leadership in my accelerated BSN program right now, and I'm currently working on a paper about nurse managers. I've been speaking to some nurse managers from the hospital I work at, but as you probably know, nurse managers can be very hard to pin down for enough time to ask some questions
So, if you could take a few moments to address any or all of the following questions for me, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
How did you go from being a floor nurse to a nurse manager? Was it a difficult decision for you? Did you always see yourself in a management position? What are your favorite and least favorite parts of the job?
What is a typical "day in the life" like for you? What are some of the common issues you deal with as a nurse manager?
How do you handle conflict resolution on your floor? What are some of the common conflicts and how you address them?
What is your role in recruiting and retaining RNs for the floor? Does your floor have a high turnover rate? If so, what sort of things can you do/are you doing to help retain nurses?
What is your voice/role in the "big picture?" What sort of meetings do you attend and what do you feel you bring to those meetings?
Thanks a million! Any help is greatly appreciated!

your questions are too long and involved for this format. That may be why you are not getting responses.
