4 attempts with the Nclex Rn and still no pass:(

Published

I took my Nclex exam again today for the 4th time in one year. With each attempt I got 265 questions! VERY FRUSTRATED:eek:

I absolutely know that I will not give up, being a nurse is too much of a passion of mine. I just don't know where to start from here!!! They say when you get 265 questions it means "you literally almost passed"... 4 times with 265 questions and I really don't know what to do!

I'm up for suggestions:)

Hi there Zucreb.... Don't give up!!!! I passed on my 5th attempt earlier this month after over a year of attempts and lots of frustration. Take some time off, give your mind a break, and then get right back on this horse and ride!!! Go after it like this is the first time you have ever taken it. I scaled back my studying to 2-3 hours a day, and used NCLEX-3500, Hurst review and LaCharity. Most of all I gave myself a break.... it was okay that I hadn't passed, it didn't make a difference as to what kind of nurse I am going to be. Patients don't care how many times you took your boards, they just know when someone is looking out for them and cares about their well-being!! After so many attempts I was convinced that this had become more about the anxiety and pressure I put on myself and that I wasn't able to think and do what I needed to do to take this exam. I knew my stuff, but couldn't pass this exam.... ugh!! I started telling myself YES, I CAN, whenever that self-doubt crept up and started talking to me - I talked back and convinced my self-conscious that I WAS capable of taking this exam and thinking NCLEX style. I also didn't rush to do all 265 questions. I planned on being there for the full 6 hours, but I knew that as long as I was still getting questions I was still in the game and I didn't have to go the full number to pass. I timed out at 188 questions and was totally beat up, but I had done the best that I could. You know deep down that you can do this.... get out of your way a little bit, don't rush, and do what you know how to do. I know that you can pass this thing!!! I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself too!!! GOOD LUCK and let me know when you are going to go back and pass!!! :nurse:
