Hello! I did apply to the 2026 LPN program at Athens Tech! I did an information session very late with 2 other potential applicants around the middle of July. I am from Kentucky and they do things a little differently to get into the LPN program so I was shocked to find out there are no pre-reqs required in Georgia for the LPN program. I had a week to study for the TEAS test and I am a mother of 3 under 3 with a husband that works nights so my study time was between 9p-5a. It was a very long and hard week for me! During my information session we were told that there were only 12 applicants so far and they allow 24 total students in the class. I will be the first to admit that my TEAS score was not super impressive but I scored above the cut off (57.8% or 58.7%, I forgot). I know that if I don't get in this time I will try again for the fall of 2026! The only reason I am gunning for the Spring semester is because it is relatively shorter than the night class LPN program and after all I am doing this for my kids, so the quicker I can get done the better I can provide for the along with my husband. My end goal is to become nurse practitioner at some point or maybe pursue the CRNA route. Best of love and luck to you and your applications to the programs!
Hi! Yay!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that applied . I didn't see a 2026 Spring thread for the college , and I was curious to know who's applying for Spring . I went to the information session in March , it was only a hand full of students . The technical college system of Ga did away with prerequisites for the LPN program August of last year . The only thing you need is your TEAS . I hope to see and meet you in November for orientation ,if we both get in . My TEAS score is 86. I know the program is competitive, and with 12 students out of 24 . I hope it's both of us, I believe we should have a chance . Also, I wasn't clear on the acceptance letters . The deadline was September 1st, but I'm not sure when we will hear anything back . I hope soon. The LPN program at this college only admit once every Spring .
I'm sorry I left out some good details from my information session! She had stated that only 12 people submitted TEAS scores for the program not just apply in general. If you think about it they can have over 100 applicants with 50 only having submitted their TEAS scores and only those 50 will be considered for the program. So to be honest I don't know how many people applied and I took my TEAS test very late ( 8/30) and my scores were not in the system before the September 1st deadline. I then had to reach out in hopes with the labor day weekend did not mess things up for my chance into the program with the cut off being a literal holiday when no one is in the building. I finally received an email back stating that she had quite a few people take their TEAS test last minute and now they are gathering a list of people who put an intent form in and only those people alongside with reaching out to the ATI people for our test scores who put an intent form in will only be considered for the program. At the information session she also stated that you MUST take or had taken your TEAS test at a proctored site, not online or it will not be considered because they had a lot of cheating situations going on with that. She also stated that if you can get in the 80's area of the TEAS test for your score that you would pretty much have a guaranteed seat in the program and the slots would be filled from highest TEAS score with intent forms and then trail down. The 2 people I had my information session with had not taken their TEAS test yet and stated in session that the only days they could take it would be the last 2 days of August, now if they took it sooner IDK. I do know some people did not get to attend the information sessions earlier in the year and she was kind enough to do small ones if requested a couple weeks leading up to the deadline. I know we really want to narrow it down to figure out how much of a chance we have but its impossible to know, LOL. Also, I went down another users old post on here regarding acceptance letter dates and a lot of people said that we should know something by the end of September going into October. I hope some of this helped and I definitely hope to see you for November orientation!
UPDATE!! I did call the college to see about when we could expect a letter and the lady on the phone said they should have them done and sent out around September 20th! So probably from that date into October is when we should know something. She also said if I wanted more detailed information to give miss Mcgee, I believe her name is a call first thing Monday morning around 8:30 am. So if you had any questions I would call her then!
I got a letter on Monday and unfortunately I did not get in to the program due to my scores not being sent correctly. I don't know who's fault it was but needless to say I was upset about it but I am pushing forward for hopefully the RN or paramedic program! At least with paramedic I can bridge to RN as well! I would love to hear what your letter had to say and I hope it was the best news for you!
Hello! I have changed my mind on everything since receiving my denial letter for LPN Spring 2026 and I am applying for LPN night class program for the Fall of 2026. I will have longer to study to make a better score on the TEAS and much more time to get all of my ducks in a row for a (hopefully) better outcome than the last. That's pretty much what I'm gunning for since I have 3 under 3 years old and in general a busier life. Nights would definitely fit me better with my lifestyle, LOL. Also, did you get your letter for the LPN 2026 Spring program? If so, what was your outcome? I would love to hear about it!
