Aspirins and NASAIDs

Published

This may sound like a "not so smart" question, but is aspirin an NASAID. i was told it was not an nsaid, but like an nsaid. so which is it? please help :uhoh3:

Well by the strictest of definitions, aspirin is non-steroidal, and it is an anti-inflammatory. So in that respect, it is an NSAID.

However, it also decreases platelet aggregation....which is different from the class of drugs considered NSAIDs.

Make sense?

yes, thank you!
