Aspen vs competency BSN program

Published

Hi all,

I am struggling to get my BSN done. I started a program last year that was competency based, but unfortunately they discontinued the program and I found myself having to find another college. After extensive research, I decided to go with the course-based program at Aspen University because they required the fewest courses from me, and therefore tuition was by far cheaper than most other online programs. I've done three classes with them so far, but I'm struggling to make these weekly deadlines. I often stay up very late or pull all nighters just to get them in on time. I had to withdraw from my fourth class because I just have too much stress going on in my life right now. Before I re-enroll and pick up where I left off, I was considering going back to a competency-based program that would be less stressful. I am reluctant for fear of losing credit for what I've already done, and having to pay a lot more money. if I have to pay a little more it won't be too bad. Not having to deal with stressful deadlines will be worth it. I thought of WGU, but I know that they are only cheap if you work fast and get through more courses. Any thoughts on this? I would appreciate any advice you all could give me!

Hey,

I'm thinking of attending aspen university.  How is it? Is it designed for full-time nurses? I need a self paced program. I know my previous program where I recieved my ADN is self paced and they are now offering a BSN. The only issue with my previous schools new program is that it's board approved but not accredited.  It's. Great self paced program but I'm concerned about the accreditation thing
