Hello to all...Im new to this site and after lurking in the background for a while I have decided to ask a question....does anyone have any experiences with the Army Reserves CRNA school? I have been considering joining the Nurse Corps and try my luck as being a soldier for the chance to get some government issue medical training and tuition. I dont know if im really cut-out to be a mainstream gung-ho soldier but I believe that it is a little different in the Direct Appointment program that the USAR has....is this true? any help or experiences would be helpful...thanks

There is no Army Reserve CRNA School.

If you want to go to one of the two programs maintained by the Army then you'll have to join (commissioned or enlisted) as a nurse and then apply for the schools. It's my understanding that the wait for admission can be very long. Of course, you'll be working as a nurse in the Corps and your school will be completely paid for along with most living expenses.

You can get a monthly stipend from the Army during school and incur some Reserve committment after school. It's called the STRAP program and it's detailed on the Army Nurse Corps website.
