Hello everyone,
I was hoping to hear from any nurses currently in the Nurse Corps Reserve who have prior service. I've read through some other threads but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I have 5 years active duty Army as an MP prior to becoming a nurse. I've been an RN for almost 5 years, BSN is just about done. I've always had a desire to go back in and I've been seriously considering the reserves once my BSN is complete. I spoke to a recruiter via e-mail a few times and even called the medical recruiting at Ft. Meade, but all I got was generic information and that my past use of Zoloft (for post-partum depression) could disqualify me. Can anyone give me the basic version of how the recruitment process works? I should also mention that I have a service-connected rating for MST, which I know I may have to choose between that pay and drill pay (based on what the recruiter stated). Does that effect the selection process and does that mean they dig through all my VA records? Physically I have no issues but I'm just lost on whether or not to even bother since everyone official I've reached out to has given generic answers and gave no pertinent info on the whole process. Sorry for the long-winded post and I appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance.
