Arizona FNP licensure

Published

Does anyone know or have experience with how to get licensed as a family nurse practitioner in the state of Arizona. I have read the Arizona board of nursing's website, but still have a lot of confusion. Coming from Ohio, I know the first step is to transfer my RN license by reapplying for Arizona's RN license. The national certification exams are AANP and ANCC, and I have heard both are acceptable nationwide. With that being said, does Arizona require one certification over the other? In Ohio, we have to do CTP-E which is to have a certain number of hours with a collaborating physician and NP to get our certificate to prescribe. Is there something similar required in Arizona? I haven't come across any information that states it is, and that makes sense as Arizona has more independent practice for NPs.

If anyone has any information on any of this, please let me know!

Thank you!
