Hi guys!
I also applied for APU's spring 2018 cohort however, I still have two classes in progress. I am hoping that worst case scenario would be that I would be considered for Summer 2018. â˜¹ï¸ I'm sure you all have all your classes completed. I'm rooting for all of you. I feel like I keep bugging the admissions rep, Ethan about my status 😞. I have not heard ANYTHING 😠and I just talked to him today and he said people are still taking exams this week. Have you all taken your exams? How was it?
They told me before I applied that I had to have all my prerequisites completed except for one non-science class. I'm sure the counselors are use to being bugged, just hang in there. I'm scheduled to take the competency test soon. I am pretty nervous about the exam, since my acceptance into the program is contingent upon passing. I've been studying the guide, and Potter Perry Fundamentals of Nursing 9th edition. Thank you for the good wishes. I hope the same for you.
If anyone out there is curious know about APU's competency test I will happily share my experience. The is test consist of 30 multiple-choice questions, and a demonstration of skills. The study guide provided by the school is helpful and Potter Perry Fundamentals of Nursing video clips of skill demonstrations on; taking manual VS, Med. Admin. & hand hygiene. The multiple-choice portion of the test does include some basic dosing calculation and the examples on the study guide are the most helpful. I passed the competency test, and I was accepted into the program. I hope this information was helpful. Good Luck everyone!
I'm about to take my competency exam next week and I am a nervous wreck! Can you please tell me more about (exactly) the skills part?? What skills did you have to perform?? Injections?
