Applying to MDC RN prgrm fall 08 & Spring 09

Published

I'm feeling anxious, worried, and scared--I think i've even managed to give myself stomach ulcers! I'm applying to MDC RN program for the fall of 08 with a 3.3 gpa and over 60 college credits from FSU and if I don't get accepted I plan on applying for the spring term of 09 but my gpa will have gone up to about a 3.5 due to summer courses. I want to believe that I'm going to get accepted and everything will be perfect but deep down inside I sometimes just don't feel that way. Here's the back story; i'll keep it short and simple. I did well at FSU, i think, anyways, towards the last semester I was there I took A & P 1 w/L --- Got a C on the lecture and now I had to retake the Lab :o( --Mind you, I have gotten all A's and B's through out my college career at FSU until I (((lost focus, suffered from depression and decided I needed to come back home))) I have taken two yrs off and now I'm bck in the game. Anyways, the point is, I'm worried that the C and the fact that I had to retake A&P Lab is going to TOTALLY work against my getting into MDC RN prgrm. *sighs* Can anyone reasure me that everything will work out and be just fine??? I feel like i'm going to go crazy. Nursing---MEDICINE, period, is where I belong and what I want to do. Wish me luck---and thnk for listening! :uhoh3:

From experience, I believe that when you retake a course once then the college is able to drop the other grade (as if you had never taken it) and recalculate your gpa. Furthermore, I understand that things can become a little overwhelming when you are in pursuit of dreams, however just reassure yourself and believe more in you...everything else will work out according to plan. Look at it like this, with the determination and outlook that you possess then any school should want to pick you up as a student, but if they don't please consider it their loss. Sometimes, God has a way of allowing certain things to pan out for our benefit...if you get in then it was definitely meant to be, but if not then there is another school out there just as deserving of your time and effort. Apply to more than one school...it increases your chances tremendously and you can always transfer in to another (but you don't want to sit out and just wait) school.

Thank you JolieDame. Things do happen for a reason and my determination will definitely pay off. Thanks for helping me put things into perspective. I'm actually excited to see what's going to happen in the coming months... *CrossING Fingers* It'll all work out!
