I applied to two schools with application deadline date 11/01. Both contacted me to let me know I was missing 1 LOR. Is this usual? I thought it was nice of them to give me an heads up to let me know my file is incomplete. I thought the LORs were all in but one person was a little slow I guess. Still not in yet but I am told they were mailed out this week.
So anyone know if schools are now contacting you to let you know what is missing from your application file?
How could they possible do this with all the applications they must be receiving? Or maybe the schools I selected are just really nice and thoughtful. Thoughts anyone?

I have applied to 4 schools so far, and most have let me know if I am missing something, either by email or phone call (or both)....this is very helpful, but I feel that letters of recommendation seem to 'get lost' either en route or once they arrive @ the school. I have had people send their LORs by the due date, but they seem to magically disappear (by fault of either the USPS or the school!)...then you are the one penalized! Some schools are cool about this and simply ask you to re-send or fax....others are not so forgiving, even though the LORs are basically out of our hands!
