The applications for the ADN program at my CC are available now. I am going to be picking the packet up and starting the process to apply to the program. I am by no means hanging all my hopes on getting into the program here, and I do have a plan B, but I am still a little nervous about it.
The main reason I'm attempting it at this point is because I'll be finishing the pre reqs for the ADN program on schedule to apply for Fall '08 admission, and I don't see that I have anything to lose by putting in my app. If I don't get in, I'll take the rest of the pre reqs for a BSN and try to get into one of those programs at a 4 year university (UW would be great! *crosses fingers*)but I'll also apply to other ADN programs at that time, too... just to broaden my choices I guess.
Although it's not a life or death scenario, it would still be nice to be accepted. I could get my ADN, then do a BSN bridge program after I work a bit. It would be nice to not have to defer plans and wait around and such. So it will still sting a bit if I don't get in.
Apps are due by mid March, acceptance letters don't come out until sometime in May, so it's going to be a long haul, but a long journey begins with a single step, yeah?:uhoh21:

Just wanted you to know that you are not alone!!! I am going to apply to my CC in February for Fall 2008. Unfortunately I don't have all my pre-req's done (2 left in the spring!), so I have pretty much accepted that I won't get in yet (but will apply anyway!!).
So my focus is then on applying in Fall 2008 for Spring 2009 (yikes! Seems so far away!)...... which brings me to the question of what to do next summer & fall!?!?!??!
I'm considering taking more classes for the BSN program... so that I can apply there. And there is another CC in the area that requires 1-2 more pre-req's..... so I could take those classes to apply there as well.
Just one step at a time! We'll get there eventually. :balloons:

I am having a heck of a time deciding if I want to apply at my local CC or at one of the learning hospitals in the area. We have a great few programs in my area. I do know that I just need to get working making more money than I am right now. I wonder if it would be worth it to take the 1 semester CNA course at my CC just so that I can get working. I work right now in a large hospital, I work directly under the house supervisors and the VP of Nursing, so I know that I could get a CNA job here, but I want to be sure to have plenty of time to study. I just plain do not know what to do.
HELP!

I'll be taking Microbiology in the spring, but it's not a factored class, so it doesn't figure into admissions. I just have to complete the course before starting in the nursing program. So once I finish A&P 2 in the winter quarter, I'm eligible, and if the app is in by mid March, they give you until mid April to get the updated transcript with the winter quarter grade(s) to them. So it'll be a tight squeeze, but we'll see. But I am pretty much on a similar track as you, it looks like. :) Good luck!
