I know that they want all papers to be in APA however I saw on the website that they state they have specific requirements. Is it the standard APA requirements? Any books I should get? Most importantly, is anyone using an online software or website for help in this?

Get the book that UTA recommends called "APA the Easy Way" and I would also recommend that you also go ahead and get the 6th edition of the "APA Style Manual". It provides quite a bit more detail than the the first book I mentioned. Purdue Owl is a good website for additional help: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/
When all else fails, you can also check the APA website for help: APA Style
Basic APA style is not that hard once you've written a paper or two. Every once in a while there will be a document that you may want to cite where the APA guidelines are a bit vague.

I've been using PERRLA for years for papers with excellent results. I love it.
So the papers for the nursing part, it's ok to use that software?
I've used it for my BSN and my MSN without issue.
