Specializes in ER, Psych, Telephone Triage.

In this system does anyone but a Nurse pass Meds?

Does an officer remain with you during all prisoner contacts?

How long an orientation do you get?

Do you have a code cart available or at least AED?

Have you ever been assaulted by a Prisoner?

I don't work for SD county Sheriffs but if u do that means we work for the same private contractor company. I'm a nurse in another county in Cali n the company I work for also is out in San Diego county. Our standard protocols are across the board company wide so to answer your question: Depending on how big the facility is the LVN or RN passes meds. Yes officers are supposed to remain with u during prisoner contact but this could differ from county to county. I got a 3 week orientation. Yes we have an AED is the emergency response bag together with IV start kits, suction, epi pens, oxygen n all other basic supplies u can think off during an emergency. Good luck.

Hello, I am also curious to know about working for the San Diego Jail as an RN. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
