Anyone working on pre-req's at the CCCs? Does anyone use Clovis??

Hey Everyone,

I'm between applying to state program or BHSN for my RN.

I'm at HCC and GWCC working on pre-req's. I finished all the pre and co requiste non-nursing courses.... except the sciences :( Because I am currently enrolled in Bio, I have yet to take AP1. Regrettably, I have to take chem as well. Anyone else in the same boat? I would like to chat with you!

How about the TEAs, is anyone else not yet ready to take it?

Has anyone taken Lifespan development online? Maybe with clovis (which can have shorter semesters)? I'm curious of the courseload in comparison to General Psych, which was just reading, writing very short papers, repetition, and showing up. I'm thinking about doing it, but then BHSN requires Child Psych instead of Lifespan. I'd hate to take the focus off of other required classes then not even use it if I got accepted to BHSN.

It would still count towards my bachelor's when I bridge to BSN down the road, though. Maybe its a good idea to take for the A when calculating my nGPA??

A little background on me: I took general ed classes for 3 semesters. Then in 2008/age 20 found out I was pregnant, had serious kidney stones, was placed on bedrest and withdrew (from Chem and Bio). I am a DONA-trained doula, so I get the chance to counsel and support pregnant moms, stay the entirety of labor, delivery, and postpartum. Because I don't have a "shift" and moms can have a long labor, I get to see what nurses do for their entire shifts at different hospitals. I see the good, bad, ugly of the job. I firsthand witness the triumph, the grief, the pressure. I would like to work in L&D for a year while simultaneously bridging to my bachelor's. Then I plan to apply to midwifery school for my MSN. Its a LONG ways out. As a young, single, PT-working mom, I'm on a really long term plan to get in to school and graduate, but I am happy with this plan. I was made to help women become mothers :)
