Hello I am a 18 year old student named Jonnathan Kim. As of now I am
attending Harper Community College aiming to finish my pre-requisites
before applying to the UIC nursing program. I know the UIC nursing program
is very competitive to get into and because of this I want to maximize my
chances of getting into the program.
My plan is to take all the the non science pre-reqs at Harper College
first, such as English etc.(The reason for this is because I have heard
that UIC will value good grades in science classes taken at UIC over
science classes taken elsewhere.) The next part of my plan was to transfer
to the UIC college of liberal arts and science as a pre-nursing student to
finish up my science requirements before finally applying to the UIC
nursing program.
Is this plan a good idea in your opinion? Or should I stay with my
Community college and just transfer from there?
Also, if I go through with this particular path, will I be considered as a
UIC student when applying for the Nursing program? (I am wondering because
UIC students get priority over transfer students)
