Anyone??

:)Hello Everyone!

I've been a longtime lurker on allnurses.com and I'm finally in a position to finish up my pre-reqs, and hopefully start NS in the spring! That is of course if everything goes well...So here comes my question is there anyone here appyling to the nursing program or already enrolled in Waubonsee's Nursing program? If so what pre-reqs did you take? Was it hard to get in, or what G.P.A did you have to get in? Right now i'm in A&P I and i've already completed english 1 and 2 and I'm taking the CLEP for Intro. to psychology. Basically I'm freaking out!! I don't know what to expect and i'm wondering if waubonsee is a good Nursing program? Was there any other classes you had to take besides the 8 pre-reqs? any comments would be appreicated! Thanks in advance! and good luck to everyone else out there!!:D

oh...not that this matters but I'm 18 years old already had one year of college and I'm also taking a C.N.A class at Spectrum Nurse's Training!!:p

Hi!

I also go to Waubonsee, but due to financial reasons will not be applying to the nursing program for another year or two. So I am taking my prereqs one at a time on the weekends (I work full time) until I can apply. I just finished A&P I and will be taking A&P II in the fall. I only had to take four prereqs as I have another Associates degree and some classes transferred over.

From what I hear, there is usually about a semester wait and they give preference to in-district students.

You mentioned taking the CLEP test for Inro to Psych...I was told you could also test out of Life Span Psych which is also a prereq. You may want to look into that.

I've found these boards to be a great resource...don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for your reply! hmmm i'll look in to that I didn't know that you could also test out of Lifespan? Did you find that there were any particular books that help prepare for the psychologyCLEP exam? I heard it wasn't too bad though. And did you find A&P I to be hard? Well good luck with the rest of your pre-reqs!
