I'm not even through nursing school, but if circumstances are conducive to travel nursing when I graduate, I plan on it. I loooooooved Mexico the 2 weeks I spent there. I love the Spanish language and Mexican culture. Has anyone done any nursing there in Mexico?
Australia seems like the place to be too, so anyone done this there?
If so, tell me about it!

I worked in Australia in 2005 for 6 months, it was great, I loved it out there. The weather was sublime, working conditions were decent...I was at a large teaching hospital in their stepdown unit. Some drugs were different though...I did have to take a course in the hospital to help me figure out what they called everything! My coworkers were great...they were laughing at my accent, and I of course had a hard time explaining especially when they talked real fast! I really missed my family and friends though, and noone could really afford to come visit, so that part sucked. But it was a great experience, if you have a chance to do it...DO it!

I'd love to know about Mexico as well. Particularly the touristy areas like Cozumel, Cancun, Cabo, etc. If anyone has any info about Mexico, please post!
Also, I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that you have to have at least a BSN to go to Australia. Again, don't know about the validity of that.
I didn't have a BSN when I went to Australia in 2005. If you have documentation of significant experience, they waive that rule. I had to send in my post degree training certificates, have my manager write a letter that stated in detail all we did on the unit, show basic skills etc. That was just a hassle getting the paperwork together, but they do accept US trained ADN nurses,...as long as you are experienced.
Thanks for that clarification.

I absolutely love Mexico too and hope to be able to offer my nursing services in free clinics down there. But I am barely starting on my prerequisites. I noticed that you wrote this in 2009. If you ended up in Mexico, how did you end up going about it?
