Hey, is there any info you can give me on Southeastern? Considering their program starting this October but highly considering Keiser in January. Any info at all from timing, working, clinical or whatever would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I know a guy that was working in my department going to Keiser University in Doral for his ASN. He graduated and passed the NCLEX. He is now woring as an RN at the hospital we work at. I would like to go to Keiser but the admission rep told me the tution is going to be like 8700 per semester. I don't want that type of school loan debt, so its unlikely that I enroll at Keiser. I have another coworker that has a friend that graudated from Southeastern and works as an RN in a Kendall, FL facility. I am going to go to Southeastern College tomorrow to speak to an admissions rep. I have like 5 pre-requisites I need to take before starting the nursing core. I would go to Miami DAde for the pre-req's and then apply for the nursing program but it will take me longer at Miami DAde College although it is more affordable. We will see, I really want to be an RN but I don't want to have to wait more than 2 years just to finish because I work at night.
If you are not attending a program at Miami Dade or Broward, I can tell you now that you'll be paying minimum $30k for a nursing core at these private for profit schools such as Keiser or Southeastern. I went n to Southeastern 2 weeks ago and spoke with an advisor, the cost is around $32K for the nursing core. I've completed all pre-reqs. Keiser is accredited by the state and regionally while Southeastern is approved by the state. I can attend Southeastern's 12 month program starting October or wait til January to take Keiser's 16 month programs. Both schools do clinicals at my job (JMH).
