Anyone in Illinois going to College of DuPage for their nursing program?

Published

I am going to College Of DuPage for my pre requisites and eventually my ADN. I am taking the math pre-requisite and a psych class this summer, and A&P and the CNA class in the fall.

Anyone out there going to COD? OR anyone heard about their program?

All information is appreciated.

I heard that their program is very good. Now having said that I must say "don't pin all your hopes on COD". The amount of applications they receive is insane. I have been on their waiting list and it's not worth the wait. So I hope you have a plan B in the works because if you don't pass the HESI with what they call a perfect score of 90% on each of the sections you won't be accepted into their program.

What other programs in the area are worth the time and effort? I am really committed to this, but I am also a 35 year old male with three kids, so my time is pretty precious to me. Any others in the area that are worth their weight?

There are a number of excellent community college based ADN programs in your area. Problem is that they all receive a tremendous number of applicants each semester. Virtually all have wait lists. BSN programs are typically quicker to get into, because they have fewer applicants, due to their higher costs.

You may want to check into BSN programs in your area, such as NIU (DeKalb), U St. Francis (Joliet), Lewis U (Romeoville), U of I, U of C, Rush, Northwestern etc. I think NCC in Naperville also has a BSN program.

Good luck!
