Looking for info on place to work as RN. Would like rural type area in which to live though. Any info on places of employment or living areas that I should check out further would be appreciated. Also any places to avoid would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, Wanda :specs:

I am from Tennessee. I grew up in Oliver Springs and I was born in Harriman hospital in 68. Where all have you tried to apply at?

LOL, just started nursing school. Will be moving somewhere in this general area in 3-4 years. So any advice about anything would be appreciated. Want to live some where that allows chickens and can have a garden and NO close nosy neighbors. Final goal is to work in home health eventually. Thanks for your response, Wanda

Hi Dixieheart,

I moved to Harriman from Orlando 11 years ago, and thought I had died and gone to heaven! You could not pay me to go back to Orlando. I'm a nursing student so I can't really help with the job situation, but there is a hospital in Harriman and several new medical buildings in both Harriman and Kingston.

I think you'll find what you're looking for in this area, although even though I don't have any close neighbors, I do have nosy neighbors! LOL!

Good Luck!

Dear Fergfrog,

Your words are encouraging. What is it about the place that is so "heavenly"? I 'm sure the land is beautiful though I've haven't visited there yet (live in Missouri) I guess I could stand nosiness some as I have nothing to hide and can give a dose of that medicine back if need be LOL. What the main attraction is for me is the abundance of IFB churches in Harriman, Kingston and Knoxville. It is pretty dead here spiritually speaking and I'm sick of it and the attitude of these 'mules". :rotfl:

I was born in Oak Ridge and grew up in Oliver Springs. Its a nice area. I'll go back when I get through school.

Hi Dixieheart,

I could write for the next 3 pages about all the things I love about East Tennessee, so I'll just hit the highlights.

First, the area is just beautiful with mountains and rivers. The weather is wonderful with seasons that I didn't have in Florida. The traffic is considerably less than where we were in Orlando. I used to drive 8 miles in total gridlock for a total commute time of 45 minutes. The people here are very friendly also. I didn't know half my neighbors in Orlando, (lived in the same house 9 years) and I know all of my neighbors here even though I live out in the country as compared to a subdivision. Plus, the crime rate is much, much lower here than it was in Orlando.

Okay, what is an IFB church?
