Hi all, I am a new graduate from an RN program in south florida (treasure coast area). I take my boards in 2 weeks and have started the interveiw process with several area hospitals. Unfortunately, I have only done clinicals at one of them.... So I was just wondering if anyone has worked at any of these hospitals, known someone who did, been a patient there, etc. and could give me any input. Any comments, good or bad would be greatly appreciated :)

Sebastian River Medical Center, Sebastian

Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach

Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce

Raulerson Hospital, Okeechobee

Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart

Thanks,

Lindsay

Ok I live in this area - first off this is a great area to live in!

I work in Indain River Medical Center - have been there a year now and love it. It is 335 beds and not for profit. They treat the staff well (well they do on my floor) Everyone is freidnly and I have only had one slight run in with one doctor in a year - otherwise everyone is very friendly! Good place to work.

Sebastian Hopsitla I have heard is another good hopsital too - not sure how many beds off the top of my head but it is smaller than Indian River...but I have heard it is good too.

Not heard much about Lawnwood in Fort Pierce.

Raulerson in Okechobee is a very small hospital - something like 150 beds.....very nice little town - well I liked it! Dont know much about the hospital but I have had some pt's that come from Okechobee to Indian River and it is a good hours drive away.

Martin Memorial I havent heard much about either...

Hope that helps - if you need more info email me!

Which floor or speciality are you planning to go to? I work on Ortho on the 5th floor.
